If I hear one more person *****ing about Wal-Mart on the old Bonnie Hame site, I’m going to puke. There’s been nothing on that vacant piece of land for over 50 years, and now you want to ace out the only real developer because WHY?

I, personally don't shop at Walmart. Haven't for four years, but a business on a vacant site brings revenue to the town- it's not rocket science. Walmart has become the "Evil Empire" for some reason- but I figure it's a win-win for the city.

Of course it is, Karen. But do you think the City Council has figured it out? Maybe they'd prefer another five decades of weed-choked empty space. It would complement the abandoned Chrsyler plant, don't you think?

Walmart is the local politicos "straw man", like the evil rich & the evil insurance companies are Obama's straw men. They take a stand against evil Walmart for the votes.

I'd like to see them tear down the blighted buildings downtown and breathe some life back into it. Knowing this berg, that will never happerm though.
