I think the first evidence of how the superpac money affects elections is pretty revealing. Gingrich gets hammered in Iowa from SP backing Romney for FNMA role and cuddling up to Pelosi. Romney gets it right back from the SP backing Gingrich and Perry, characterizing Mitt as a corporate raider. How much of this stuff is true? It doesn't matter. If it is a lie, too bad, it is protected, as all political speech should be. All of the bad commercials that you will see in Wisconsin when they get close to a recall election will put Scott Walker under a microscope. Nothing wrong with that. His predecessor should have been examined as closely, he might not have just been recalled, he might have been tried. It is up to the voter to examine the negative claims against the knowledge that is out there and come to their own conclusions about these candidates. It might mean having to exercise some cranial muscles but it will be quite beneficial in the long run.
